56006 has a good set of tyres, but the profile has worn to the point at which the flange height is getting to the point where it exceeds the limits allowed by Network Rail.
At some point 56006 will be towed from Leicester to Tyesley where the work will be carried out.
No timescale has been set for the work and it is hoped the cost of the rail move can be shared with another loco moving in the same direction . The 56 ban at the NVR took away any urgency to have this work done and once we know when the move will take place details will be posted on this website.
